A: Handcrafted work is seldom as rigid as pieces manufactured en masse. Despite the risk of sounding cliche, each unique piece has a story; such as the artist’s instant inspiration once the perfect fabric was discovered. Buying handmade gives you the exclusive privilege of being directly connected to the artist and continuing that story throughout the ownership of your piece.
A: My original products each convey a distinct character; some are simple and chic, others fall into the realm of dynamic and edgy. My goal is that, regardless of classification, each piece reflects the pride, enthusiasm, and dedication to my craft. Comfortably classic. Happily handmade: If nothing else, just understand that none of my pieces are constructed under stress or exhaustion, nor anger or sadness. I only sew when I’m in a great mood!

A: AAD products are based on comfort, simplicity, and quirkiness. In my wardrobe, I’m a big fan of juxtaposing crisp, classic elements with one or two obnoxiously bright, loud pieces. Many of my products reflect that style. Anything can be inspiration, really. I’ve built entire pieces around a clasp or fabric scrap that I can’t bring myself to let go of. Sometimes I just see how the fabric falls and take it from there. I’ve found it best just not to force it.
A: Products like the Alma Eye Pillow and the Wendy Clutch are tributes to influential people in my life who have supported my journey and encouraged me to break away from the norm. Visit the blog for a story about each product’s muse.
A: Hosting a party is a fantastic opportunity to earn AAD products and partner offers. Invite friends, family and coworkers to attend a get-together, during which I will make a brief presentation of the products available for sale. The amount purchased at the party determines your gift level. If one of your guests books a future party, you will also be rewarded with a gift! There is no charge to host a party; your duty is to provide an adequate meeting space (usually your home or office), invite guests, and provide light refreshments. Parties can be booked with a minimum of two weeks notice, and are great events for the holiday season.
